Lens: Olympus Digital 12 – 60mm f2.8 – 4 . IMO, taking photos in automatic mode easily lacks of thinking, and the results are often not as good as those taken in manual mode. The previous album (E-510) and this album (E-3) can be compared to realize this difference.

Olympus Digital 14-42mm f3.5-5.6

Bid and won Olympus Digital 18-180mm f3.5-6.3 Four-Third lens by mistake, thinking that it was a Micro 4/3 good for Panasonic micro 4/3 family. Thus began to learn about Olympus cameras. Bought 3 used ones — one (E-510 with auto function not working, only manual works); one E-520; the other (E-3 with a very nice Olympus Digital 12-60mm f2.8-4 lens). Olympus makes good cameras, except their operation is entirely different from that of Pentax. Even their j-peg images were not accepted by software that I am using. I enjoyed the exploration albeit steep learning curve.

Panasonic DMC-LX7. Take this camera with you when you go traveling. Size: a bit smaller than your palm. Weight: about 1 lb. Excellent for landscape and indoor shots. Built-in Leica lens f/1.4 – 2.3 / 4.7 – 17.7mm, very bright and sharp. Macro shot: good. Landscape shot: excellent. All the positive comments in Internet about this camera are valid. If you see one less than $180 used, grab it since it’s been obsolete. Back up battery recommended.
